How does it work

· The browsing history is not recorded. The displayed web pages and downloaded files in incognito mode are not recorded in your browsing and download histories.

· The cookies are deleted. All new cookies are deleted after you close all incognito windows.

· You can easily switch between browsing in incognito and normal. You can open simultaneously incognito windows and normal windows and switch between the two modes.

· Extensions are disabled. In incognito windows extensions are automatically disabled. This is because Google Chrome does not control how to handle your personal data by the extensions. If you want that extension is shown in incognito windows, select the checkbox for “Allow in incognito” for the extension.

Firefox

To check or change your settings:

Click the button of the menu and select Options.
Select the Privacy panel.
At History Settings item: select Use custom settings.
To enable cookies, mark the entry Accept cookies from sites; to disable remove the mark from the item.
If you are having problems with cookies, make sure also that the Accept cookies option to third parties is not set to Never.
Choose how long cookies can be stored : ITALY Keep until they expire: cookies will be removed when they reach the expiration date (the date set by the site that sends cookies).
Keep them until you close Firefox: The cookies that are stored on your computer will be removed when Firefox closes.
Keep until ask me every time: Displays an alert every time a web site tries to set a cookie and asks all ‘ if you want this cookie to be saved.
Click OK to close the options window.
Delete cookies for a specific site:

1. Click the Menu button and select Options.

2. Select the Privacy panel.

3. At the history entry Settings: select Use custom settings

4. Click the entry Show Cookies …. This will open the Cookies window.

5. In the Search field, type the site name that you want to remove cookies. A list that contains the cookie related to your search.

6. In the list, select the cookies to remove and click the Remove Cookie button.

7. To select all the cookies in the list, select the first cookie and press Shift + End keys.

8. Click the Close button to close the Cookies window.

9. Click OK to close the options window.

Delete all cookies

1. Click the menu button, and then select History Clear Recent History.

2. The time interval from the drop-down menu to delete: select all.

3. Click the arrow next to Details to display the list of items to delete.

4. Select Cookies and make sure they are not selected other content that you want to keep.

5. Click Clear Now to delete cookies, then close the window Delete Complete History.

Block cookies from a particular site

Visit the site to which you want to inhibit the ability to set cookies.
Click the right mouse button by placing the mouse cursor around the page and select Page Info.
In the Page Info window , select the Permissions panel.
At line Set cookies, remove the mark from Use default. Select the option Lock.
Close the Page Info window.
Remove all cookies that the website has already set in Firefox.

Click the Menu button, select Options.
Select the Privacy panel.
At History Settings item: select Use custom settings.
Next to the entry Accept cookies from sites, click the Exceptions button.

Block cookies from all sites

Click the button of the menu and select Options.
Select the Privacy panel. At

Remove the check mark from Accept cookies from sites.
Making click OK to close the options window.
Turn off third-party cookies

The Third-party cookies are cookies set by a website other than the one you are currently visiting. For example, the site cnn.com might contain within it a “Like” button on Facebook. That button will set a cookie that can be read by Facebook. This could be considered as a third-party cookies.

Some advertisers use these types of cookies to track user visits to all sites on which they offer their services. If a user believes that this traceability can be a source of concern and of invasion of privacy, in Firefox is the third-party cookies can be disabled.

Notes:

· Disabling third-party cookies can prevent in some cases tracking by advertisers but not in all.

Click the menu button, select Options.

At History Settings item: select Use custom settings.
Set the Accept third-party cookies to Never.
Note if navigating with this approach you realize that you can not properly display some of your favorite web sites, an intermediate solution is to set the option accept third-party cookies from sites visited on. This setting allows you to accept third-party cookies from the websites visited previously.
